Profhilo is a bio-remodelling injectable made of ultra-pure hyaluronic acid at very high concentration. Unlike traditional fillers, it does not add volume or change your shape. Instead it spreads under the skin, hydrates deeply, and stimulates your own body to produce collagen and elastin over 4 to 6 months. The result is better skin quality — firmer, glowier, more elastic — but you still look like yourself.
Profhilo is one of the most studied HA-based bio-remodelling products in the world, manufactured by IBSA (Switzerland). It uses only pure hyaluronic acid, which is a natural molecule already found in your skin. Common side effects: mild swelling and small bumps at the 5 injection points for 12 to 24 hours. Most patients return to work the same day. Serious side effects are rare when administered by a qualified physician.
The standard protocol is 2 sessions, 4 weeks apart. This is the textbook Profhilo protocol backed by clinical evidence. Some patients with advanced laxity may benefit from a third session at 8 weeks. Maintenance typically requires 1 to 2 sessions per year to sustain results.
Some patients notice hydration and glow within 2 weeks of the first session. Firmness and texture improvement is typically visible 4 to 6 weeks after the second session. Full remodelling effect peaks at month 4 to 6, since collagen and elastin regeneration is a biological process that unfolds over time. Discomfort is minimal. A very fine 29G needle is used at only 5 injection points per side (10 total for full face). Numbing cream is applied 20 minutes before the session. Most patients describe it as mild pressure. No sedation or general anaesthesia required. The session itself takes 15 to 20 minutes.
